Liberal Democrats Election Manifesto 2019

The key elements of our Election Manifesto are:

  1. Stop Brexit.
  2. Fund the NHS: Raise £7bn a year over five years - a total of £35bn - to spend on the NHS and social care.
  3. Free childcare: All children aged two to four will qualify for 35 hours a week, 48 weeks a year. For children whose parents are in work, it will start from nine months.
  4. Tackle climate change: Generate 80% of electricity from renewables by 2030 to reduce carbon emissions.
  5. Tax frequent flyers to incentivise the reduction of carbon emissions by airplanes.
  6. Recruit 20,000 more teachers by spending £10.6 billion more on schools.
  7. Legalise cannabis to help to break the grip of the criminal gangs.
  8. Freeze train fares for all peak-time and season tickets.
  9. 20% wage increase for people working on zero-hours contracts.
  10. 10,000 refugees to be resettled in the UK a year.
  11. Build 300,000 new homes a year to bring the supply of new houses into line with demand.

Liberal Democrats plans for Britain's future

Stop Brexit and invest the £50 billion Remain Bonus in public services and tackling inequality.

Tackle the climate emergency by generating 80% of our electricity from renewables by 2030 and insulating all low-income homes by 2025.

Give every child the best start in life by recruiting 20,000 more teachers as part of an extra £10 billion a year for schools.

Transform our mental health services by treating mental health with the same urgency as physical health.

General Elections 2019

I am the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for the Stoke-on-Trent North constitutency in the 2019 General Elections.

The Liberal Democrats are the only major party offering clearly to remain in the EU. It is the national interest for the UK to remain a member of the EU. The Liberal Democrats will achieve this.

Stoke-on-Trent will be strongly disadvantaged if the UK leaves the EU. The only way to avoid this is to stay in the EU by voting for the Liberal Democrats.

The Labour of Jeremy Corbyn are hopelessly divided on the issue of leaving the EU. Their plan for government will cause economic and social chaos.

The sensible way to avoid another disastrous Tory government is to vote for Liberal Democrats.

I am fully in the favour of remaining in the EU.
